In this policy, “AirHire”, "us", "we" or "our" means AirHire.App Pty Ltd (ACN 681 831 318).

We are firmly committed to privacy and are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (“the Act”).

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how information about you or associated with you (“personal information”) is collected, used, stored and disclosed by us when you visit our website or from the use of our mobile application (collectively, the "App").

The protection of your privacy is very important, and we have adopted the following practices to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information.

Personal information is the term we use to describe information which we collect, and which can be used to personally identify someone. For example, a name, a personal address or even an IP address. · We collect communications you send to us as well as any messages that you send and receive from other users of our App.

· We use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as your IP addresses, domain names, the country you’re visiting from, your time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform

  

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for purposes described in this Policy or disclosed to you on or in connection with our App. The ways in which we may use this information include:

  • Service Delivery: To      facilitate booking and transactions
  • Identity Verification: To      authenticate users and prevent fraud
  • Payments: To process transactions securely
  • Communication: To send      notifications, updates, and support messages
  • Security & Compliance: To      comply with legal obligations and enhance security
  • Marketing & Personalization: To      improve user experience and provide relevant offers (with your consent)

  

3. Disclosure of Personal Information

Our App allow you to share information about yourself with other individuals including other users and potential users of the App. Consider your own privacy and personal safety when sharing your information with anyone, including information you share through your profile. 

Information on your profile is viewable by other users to our App, and may also be viewable through public search. We do not control who reads the information you share or what others may do with this information, so we encourage you to use discretion and caution with respect to your personal information.

Additionally, we may share information with third parties as follows:

  • Other Users (e.g., Equipment      Suppliers and Hirers for matching purposes)
  • Payment Processors (e.g.,      Stripe, PayPal) for transactions
  • Regulatory Authorities if      required by law
  • Service Providers & Partners assisting      in operations (e.g., cloud storage, analytics, customer support)
  • With Your Consent, for      marketing or third-party integrations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

  

4. Data Security Measures

We recognise the importance of safeguarding your personal information and employ industry-standard security practices to protect data from unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, or loss. Our data security measures include:

· Encryption: Personal data is securely encrypted during storage (AES-256) and transmission (TLS) to maintain confidentiality.

· Access Controls: Data access is restricted to authorised personnel via strict role-based controls and continuous monitoring.

· Security Audits: Regular audits, including penetration tests and vulnerability scans, ensure compliance and proactively address risks.

· Fraud Prevention: We employ AI-driven tools to detect and respond to potential threats and suspicious activities.

While AirHire implements rigorous security practices and protocols, no data transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach or security incident involving your personal information, we will promptly notify affected users in compliance with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breach (NDB) scheme, as specified by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

  

5. User Rights & Control

Under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have specific rights regarding the management of your personal information held by AirHire. We are committed to upholding these rights, which include your ability to:

· Access Your Personal Information: You can request access to your personal information, subject to certain legal exemptions.

· Request Corrections: If your personal information is incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or misleading, you can request it to be corrected, and we will promptly update it.

· Request Deletion: You can request deletion of your personal data, unless we are legally required to retain it.

· Opt-Out of Marketing Communications: You can opt out of receiving marketing communications through your user profile settings or by contacting us directly.

· Withdraw Consent: If processing your personal information relies on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time, subject to legal obligations.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

AirHire retains your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including to:

  • Provide and manage our services 
  • Comply with applicable legal, regulatory, or reporting obligations.
  • Resolve any disputes, claims, or investigations that may arise.

Once your personal information is no longer required for these purposes, or upon receiving a request from you to delete your personal data (subject to any ongoing legal or regulatory requirements), we will take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify the information. Typically, your data will be securely deleted or de-identified within 30 days of your deletion request unless a longer retention period is mandated by law or regulatory obligations.

If we are required to retain your data beyond your deletion request due to legal or regulatory requirements, we will notify you accordingly and explain the necessity for such extended retention.

· Essential Cookies: These cookies are strictly necessary for the basic functionality of the App.

· Analytics Cookies: These cookies help us understand how you interact with our App, allowing us to monitor performance, identify issues, and continuously improve our services.

· Marketing Cookies: With your explicit consent, these cookies are used to deliver personalised content and targeted advertising based on your usage patterns and preferences.

You can control and manage your cookie preferences at any time through your device or browser settings. Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality and usability of our App.

  

9. Children’s Privacy

AirHire is intended exclusively for users who are at least 18 years of age. We do not intentionally or knowingly collect, store, or process personal information from children under the age of 18. 

If we become aware, or if you notify us, that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly take steps to securely delete such information from our records. If you have reason to believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately using the details provided below.

  

10. International Data Transfers

AirHire primarily operates and manages data within Australia. However, in some instances, our third-party service providers may store or process your personal information overseas. When transferring data internationally, we take reasonable measures to ensure these service providers maintain data protection standards consistent with Australian privacy laws and principles. This includes conducting careful assessments of their privacy practices and ensuring they adhere to contractual obligations designed to safeguard your information.

*For Suppliers who register and list equipment on the AirHire platform within the first six months of the platform’s launch (the "Promotional Period"), AirHire will apply a reduced commission rate of 5% on all transactions processed through the platform. This promotional rate is grandfathered and will remain applicable indefinitely for Suppliers who registered during the Promotional Period, provided they remain active on the platform and comply with all AirHire terms and conditions.

For all new Suppliers who join after the Promotional Period ends, the standard commission rate of 7.5% will apply.
